ABOUT

I am a serious musician with 13 albums (6 on CD Baby/iTunes) to my credit. I was in a band called OAK in the mid-70's which pioneered prog rock in Canberra with 3 90 minute concerts of orig prog music. OAK appeared on ABC, My first album "Yaraandoo" is considered a landmark and has be-reissued on vinyl 3 times, Now/Again Records, LA, USA is finalising a vinyl/CD release of "Yaraandoo" and "Hara" (jazz-fusion) early next year. I am a multi-instrumentalist but main thing is lead.I am tired of recording music by myself and want to slowly get a band together .. second guitar, keys, bass, drums and other stuff such as sax/clarinet. contact me at www.robthomsettguitarist.com. Influences

Main style is prog rock aka King Crimson, Tull, Steve Wilson et al and jazz-rock aka Mahavishnu Orch, Weather Report, Scott Henderson, et al. However, started in blues and folk so like them too. Love Dream Theatre, Caligula's Horse, etc but a little heavier than what I like to play.
