I am a musician who performs in the band Rat Verses Rabbit and also has an electronic music project called Hattie Vanilla. I have studies in music including a Certificate III in Music in performance, a Certificate IV in Music in composition, a Diploma in Music in performance and a Diploma in Music in composition. I am a singer-songwriter with APRA. I also have studies at the Australian Guild of Music Education in voice.

The band Rat Verses Rabbit was formed in 2007, and was Unearthed by Triple J in 2010 after some decent recordings of the original songs were made. The band is well known in the Colac Otway Shire and has played many festivals, pubs, and live music venues over the years as well as quite a few charity gigs. Recently Rat Verses Rabbit has performed at Uberfest, at the march for Elephants and Rhinos at Federation Square 2014, at Aireys Inlet Music Festival, Scorcher Fest, Relay for Life, the Charity event for the Ian Parker Bipolar Trust Fund, Alvie Festival, The Blues and Blueberry Festival, etc.

The band consists of Debbie Manallack on Voice; Phil Connell on Guitar; The members of the band are experienced musicians and have studies in Music.

Their repetoir includes a mixture of original songs and covers. They were featured by FAULT magazine, and were on NME TV for two years with a cover of Another Day in Paradise by Phil Collins. The also played at Kana Festival and were live simulcast on OCR FM and featured in the Colac Herald twice.
