Established Original Rock Band Seeks Lead Vocalist
We have been together for quite some time now and are looking for a lead vocalist who can bring their own influences to our existing music and share in the creative process and the band’s song writing. We have three professionally recorded CDs and a solid repertoire of quality material touching on a range of genres / influences.
We see the vocalist as the key to our music so good singing and a stage presence are keenly sought as our singer is very much the front person for our band. Our gigs and recordings have always had the vocalist very forward in the mix as the lyrics are an important part of our sound. For this to work the vocalist has to be strong and right on the money in terms of staying in key and vocal presence.
Even though we have been around for a while, we welcome interest from people with no experience. It may just be what you are looking for and a lack of experience does not rule you out from our point of view. We are much more interested in your vocal ability than any singing experience you may have had. We rehearse weekly on Wednesday nights in Osborne Park.

VA is an originals rock band from Perth, Western Australia. We formed in 2005 and have been now gigging together for 10 years. We have three professionally recorded CDs and our influences are a variety of artists in the rock, pop and blues genres. Our goal is to convey our creativity and material to a live audience, to perform our compositions in a way where we can bring something different to the mood of the listener via a melodic groove based on guitars, vocals, bass and drums.

Most of our material has derived from a seed idea brought in by any one of our members. The ethos of our band is to evolve the composition of our music by the joint creative effort of the whole group. We aim to reach our audience by performing a show rather than just playing song after song. Our ideal is that the public can be presented with a musical experience. Our sole purpose is to engage the listener.

The style of our music can be generically described as vocal rock. We have a solid repertoire of material touching on alternative, classic rock, blues, and psychedelic pop. In amongst this variety of our style is however a common sound that threads across the divide and which we hope continues to be recognized as the emblem of our artistic output.

Being around as long as we have meant the make up of our group has changed slightly over time but has remained true to our aim of creating quality music.
Over the years VA has performed in many of the well known Perth venues that showcase original music. We have a healthy respect for other performing artists and continuously join them in bills across the local club scene. We are perhaps best known for having made our first inroads in the vibrant dock area of Fremantle at Mojos, The Swan Basement, The Newport Hotel, and The Railway Hotel. Some of our most memorable performances have been at The Rosemount Hotel, The Paddo and The Civic Hotel.

We are constantly adding new songs to our body of work. Our third recording the double-single comprising "The Scene" and "Taken" was completed in the latter half of 2014.

We are in this to have fun, and write, develop and gig interesting music.
